1990's

A competitive ballroom dancer for many years, Katchen is shown here with her amateur partner competing at the California Star Ball.  They went on to win a gold medal at the US Amateur Dance Championships in 1990.

Living in Los Angeles she became involved in the Entertainment Industry, working on a number of television shows and feature films.  Here she is shown as an extra in Discipline, a horror movie that she also wrote and co-produced.

During the 1990s Katchen’s paintings were featured in exhibitions in California, New York, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.  “Little Woman”, this oil painting, appeared on one of the invitations.

In 1995 the artist moved to Hot Springs, AR.  Here she appears with one of the signature oil paintings she created for chef Paul’s restaurant in that city.

Katchen’s large oil of the River Market is photographed here by a cameraman from the ABC station in Little Rock.  The painting continues to have a prominent position of the set of “Good Morning Arkansas.”

In 1997 President Bill Clinton attended a painting demonstration by Katchen.  The painting is now in the collection of President Bill and Senator Hillary Clinton.
